CAQM Reviews Enforcement Actions Across NCR

The Enforcement Task Force of the Commission for Air Quality Management has recently reviewed inspection and enforcement activities conducted across the National Capital Region between 7 and 19 January 2026. During this period, CAQM’s flying squads undertook extensive checks across key pollution sectors, including industries, diesel generator sets, construction and demolition sites, road dust and incidents of biomass and municipal solid waste burning.

A total of 330 inspections were carried out, covering 241 industrial units, 22 DG sets, five construction sites and 62 road stretches. Ninety violations were recorded, with enforcement actions such as closures, sealing of DG sets and show-cause notices recommended in 72 cases. The Commission also noted recommendations for closure of nine ready-mix concrete plants.

Special drives across 150 road stretches in Noida and Faridabad identified several instances of non-compliance with dust control measures, while separate inspections in North Delhi recorded multiple cases of biomass and waste burning. CAQM reiterated that sustained enforcement, strict compliance and coordinated action by all agencies remain critical for effective air pollution control across the NCR.
