Andhra Pradesh's Roads and Buildings Minister, B.C. Janardhan Reddy, announced that the Central government has sanctioned Rs 65.85 billion for the development of seven national highway projects, covering a total of 384 kilometers in the state. The projects span routes including Kodumuru-Pericherla, Sangameshwaram-Nallakaluva, Nandyal-Kurnool, Vempally-Chagalamarri, Gorantla-Hindupur, Muddanuru-B. Kothapalli, and Pendurthy-Bavardha.

Reddy highlighted the crucial role played by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in securing these funds through coordination with the Prime Minister's Office, the Union Ministry of Road Transport, and other central authorities.

Initially, these projects were part of the Bharatmala project but had faced delays. After discussions with Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari in Delhi, Reddy confirmed that the Standing Finance Committee has now moved these projects from the Bharatmala initiative to the National Highways Ordinary Programme, ensuring their revival and development.
