CM Dr Yadav Calls for Better Coordination with Centre on Highways Approval
Addressing land acquisition issues related to highway projects, Dr Yadav called for swift resolutions through mutual dialogue. The meeting also revealed that Madhya Pradesh was ranked first in the country for securing approval for four-lane national highways during the 2024-25 financial year. This achievement was seen as a significant development for the state, with the central government playing a pivotal role.
Dr Yadav also reviewed the progress of national highway projects in the state, requesting detailed updates on on-going works. He proposed the construction of an elevated road near the Baba Mahakal Temple in Ujjain, which would connect directly to the railway station, enhancing traffic management for the influx of devotees from across the country and abroad.
In the meeting, it was noted that Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Jairam Gadkari would visit Badnawar in Dhar district on April 10 to inaugurate several NHAI projects. These included a 218 km national highway costing Rs 35.02 billion and a 110 km project costing Rs 23.30 billion.
