The Delhi government has prepared a proposal to construct a 19.2 km elevated road along the Yamuna from Wazirabad to the DND and has readied plans for additional flyovers and integrated works. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta carried out a detailed review of Metro expansion and associated road projects with senior officers, and officials reported steady progress on multiple fronts. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and other agencies are addressing implementation hurdles and coordinating integrated planning.

Officials said a 104.45 km network of Metro rail with 81 stations is under construction and that Phase IV overall physical progress stands at 79.57 per cent. Priority corridors expected to be completed by December 2026 include Krishna Park Extension to Deepali Chowk (six point six km), Majlis Park to Derawal Nagar (three point five km) and Derawal Nagar to R.K. Ashram (seven point four km). Several other links are advancing to broaden connectivity across the city and ease congestion on key corridors.

Work has also begun on the remaining Phase IV corridors with a target of completion by March 2029, including Lajpat Nagar to Saket G Block (eight point three eight km), Inderlok to Indraprastha (12.37 km) and Rithala to Kundli (26.46 km). Phase V(A) projects have been initiated as well, among them R.K. Ashram Marg to Indraprastha (nine point nine one km), Aerocity to IGI Airport Terminal 1 (two point two six km) and Tughlakabad to Kalindi Kunj (three point nine km), with planning and early works underway.

Alongside metro works, several major integrated road and flyover projects are in progress. A two point one six km double-decker flyover from Azadpur to Tripolia Chowk designed for both metro and road traffic is about 73 per cent complete at a cost of about Rs two point six four bn, while a one point four km flyover from Yamuna Vihar to Bhajanpura is around 85 per cent complete at roughly Rs two point nine one bn. In South Delhi a two point four eight km six-lane flyover and underpass scheme is progressing at around 40 per cent and further flyover designs continue amid challenges such as ASI permissions, tree cutting and land acquisition.
