Dilip Buildcon Secures Rs 1,602 Million Road Contract in Odisha

Dilip Buildcon has been declared the lowest bidder for a road project in Odisha after the contract was awarded by Odisha Bridge and Construction Corporation Limited. The project is valued at Rs 1,602 million (mn) and covers construction of a six-lane carriageway with service roads along the Duduka Gopalpur Toparia stretch between km 4/700 and km 11/500. The work will be carried out under the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) model, under which the contractor is responsible for design, procurement, construction and delivery.

The contract is scheduled for completion within 18 months from commencement and the reported value excludes GST. The development is expected to improve connectivity in Sundargarh district, which hosts industrial and mining activity and faces traffic movement challenges on certain stretches. Improved road geometry and dedicated service lanes are anticipated to ease congestion and support regional logistics.

The order adds to the company's existing order book, which stood at around Rs 293.72 billion (bn) in the previous quarter. Recent wins include a Letter of Intent for a power transmission project valued at about Rs 18.5 billion (bn) and a flood protection embankment assignment in Gujarat, reflecting a diversified project pipeline beyond road construction. These additions are consistent with the company's strategy of securing projects across multiple infrastructure segments.

Dilip Buildcon maintains a strong presence in EPC projects across India with focus on roads, highways, irrigation and urban development, and road contracts continue to be a key revenue driver supported by government spending on connectivity. Odisha has been witnessing steady infrastructure investment aimed at supporting industrial corridors and regional access, and projects in districts such as Sundargarh are intended to improve transport movement between key locations.
