Dilip Buildcon has been declared the lowest bidder for a road infrastructure project in Odisha valued at Rs 1,602.0 mn, awarded by Odisha Bridge and Construction Corporation Limited. The contract covers construction of a six-lane diversion carriageway with service roads along the Duduka Gopalpur Toparia stretch in Sundargarh district between km 4/700 and km 11/500. The work will be executed under an Engineering, Procurement and Construction model in which the contractor is responsible for design, procurement, construction and delivery within a fixed cost and timeline.

The project scope includes development of the carriageway and associated service roads and is scheduled for completion within 18 months from commencement, with the contract value stated exclusive of GST. The road is expected to improve connectivity in a district characterised by industrial and mining activity and to address existing traffic movement challenges on several stretches. The development forms part of a domestic infrastructure drive to enhance regional transport links.

The award strengthens Dilip Buildcon's order book, which stood at around Rs 293.72 bn at the end of the past quarter and reflects sustained bidding success across segments. Recent additions to the pipeline include a letter of intent for a power transmission project valued at around Rs 18.5 bn and a flood protection embankment assignment in Gujarat, indicating diversification beyond road construction. The company maintains a strong presence in EPC-based infrastructure projects nationwide, focusing on roads, highways, irrigation and urban development.

Authorities in Odisha have continued to prioritise investment in road development to support industrial corridors and regional connectivity, with projects in districts such as Sundargarh aimed at easing transport movement and improving access between key locations.
