Gurgaon's Dwarka Expressway nears completion

Gurgaon's Dwarka Expressway is set to meet its long-awaited completion deadline at the end of October, as per officials from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). This expressway is divided into four sections, with the Haryana-side packages 3 and 4 nearing 95% completion.

While the majority of the highway work is nearly finished, officials emphasise the importance of ensuring road safety before opening it to the public, drawing attention to accidents on other expressways. The Gurgaon segment includes a crucial cloverleaf interchange connecting the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway (NH-48) and the Southern Peripheral Road (SPR) near Kherki Daula.

Regarding underpasses on the expressway, officials note that this work is progressing independently and won't disrupt traffic on the main carriageway, although it started later and might have a spillover effect.

Meanwhile, officials confirm Union Minister Nitin Gadkari's statement that the Delhi part of Urban Extension Road 2 (UER-2), connecting North Delhi to IGI Airport, will open in three to four months. This development aims to ease traffic congestion in various parts of the national capital, significantly reducing travel time to the airport.
