Gurugram Plans Rs. 7.76 bn Elevated Corridor to Vatika Chowk

Gurugram is set to receive a 4.23 km elevated corridor along the Southern Peripheral Road (SPR) between NH-48 and Vatika Chowk. The project, estimated to cost Rs. 7.76 bn excluding GST, will include interchanges, loops and ramps, with construction scheduled over 30 months.

The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has invited bids for the work under Package 1 of the SPR, covering km 0+000 to km 4+230. The tender opened on October 1, 2026, while the deadline for submitting bids is November 18, 2026. The project will be implemented through the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) model.

According to the tender documents, the 30-month period applies to construction and does not represent a confirmed opening date because the bidding process is still under way. The contract also includes a 10-year maintenance period. The tender has been assigned the identification number 2026_HRY_551863_1.

The corridor forms part of wider road infrastructure improvements around Gurugram and the NH-48 route. Earlier works on the Gurgaon-Kotputli-Jaipur section included the foundation stones for four flyovers and nine foot overbridges, alongside other engineering measures, at an estimated cost of Rs. 2.82 bn. These works were intended to improve safety and traffic movement in Gurgaon, Rewari and nearby areas while addressing congestion and waterlogging.

Further connectivity work is also under way in the wider region. In July 2026, the Union Cabinet approved an 8.1 km, six-lane tunnel linking the Dwarka Expressway with Nelson Mandela Marg in Vasant Kunj, Delhi, at a capital cost of Rs. 69.7 bn. The government said the project would improve links between West and South Delhi and support traffic movement from Gurugram, Dwarka, the Indira Gandhi International Airport and West Delhi towards South Delhi.
