Hayer Highlights 3 Key Issues on National Highway Projects to Gadkari
Hayer requested the construction of a flyover at the Cheema-Jodhpur crossing on National Highway 703. He explained that the residents of both Cheema and Jodhpur villages face difficulties crossing the road near the bus stand, and the lack of a flyover poses a constant risk of accidents.
He further emphasised the urgent need for a flyover on the Barnala-Sangrur National Highway 64 near Badbar. He noted that a separate road branches off from this point to Longowal-Sunam, leading to significant traffic congestion. Therefore, he stressed the need for a flyover to be constructed as a priority.
In addition, Hayer highlighted the need to widen two roads connected to the city bypass on highways leading to Barnala-Moga, Sangrur, and Bathinda. One road is 7.5 km long, extending from Barnala Jail to Handiaya Chowk, passing through ITI Chow in Barnala city. The second road runs from ITI Chow to Handiaya and is 3.5 km long. He requested the widening of these two roads to facilitate smoother traffic flow.
