Jaipur Approves New Elevated Road To Ease Traffic

Jaipur authorities have approved the construction of a new elevated road to reduce traffic congestion in the city. The decision was made during a Public Works Committee (PWC) meeting chaired by JDC Aanndi, which sanctioned administrative and financial approvals totalling Rs 6.65 billion (£65 million) for six infrastructure projects.
The key projects include:
1. Elevated Road: The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) will build a four-lane elevated road from Aranya Bhavan Chowraha to Jagatpura ROB, costing Rs 5.6 billion (£54 million). Spanning 4.4 km, the road will feature three ramps and is expected to be completed within two and a half years, with construction beginning early next year.
2. Sewer Line Work: Rs 782 million (£7.6 million) will be spent connecting and laying sewer lines at the Swarna Vihar residential scheme in Prithviraj Nagar South.
3. Decorative Lighting: Rs 91 million (£0.9 million) is allocated for decorative lighting on VT Road, Aravali Marg, and Madhyam Marg.
4. Sector Road Construction: Rs 82 million (£0.8 million) will fund a 30-foot sector road from Gonar Road to Ring Road.
5. Repair Work: Rs 29 million (£0.3 million) will be used to repair road cuts made by the Jaloday Department in Zone-11.
6. Roads in Colonies: Rs 32 million (£0.3 million) is allocated for constructing roads in approved colonies in Zone Seven of Sanganer.
The elevated road and related infrastructure improvements aim to enhance traffic flow, improve connectivity, and support Jaipur’s urban development plans.
