Joint Effort to Tackle Waterlogging on Ajmer Highway
During a recent meeting between NHAI and JDA officials, it was highlighted that waterlogging is a perennial problem along this stretch. JDA Commissioner Manju Rajpal emphasized the need for immediate action, instructing a joint inspection and the submission of a comprehensive plan by next week.
NHAI officials reported that cement concrete road work is currently underway at sharp turns and U-turns, areas known for frequent pothole formation. Continuous repairs are being conducted on the service road in these locations. "We have completed the repair works on the service road towards the Mahapura-side flank of Ajmer Expressway. Only the work at the DPS School cut remains, which is expected to be finished by September 15, 2024," stated an NHAI official.
Additionally, Commissioner Rajpal directed JDA engineers to identify other areas in the city facing similar road repair and waterlogging issues and to develop a comprehensive plan to address these challenges. She encouraged the exploration of advanced technology and materials for road construction to enhance durability and longevity.
The meeting underscored the importance of improved coordination between JDA and NHAI officials, particularly concerning roads on the city?s outskirts. This collaboration aims to ensure timely project completion and maintenance for the benefit of Jaipur?s citizens.
