Pune municipal commissioner Naval Kishore Ram has directed officials to open the Kharadi-Keshav Nagar bridge to traffic by 15 August as the civic body steps up work on key infrastructure projects across the city. Ram inspected the Kharadi-Keshav Nagar bridge, the North main road and the Hadapsar railway station road and asked officials to remove bottlenecks and accelerate pending work. The instruction is aimed at easing congestion and improving connectivity in rapidly developing corridors.

During the inspection of the North main road stretch from ABC farm chowk to Tadigutta chowk the commissioner ordered the immediate shifting of utility lines that are obstructing road widening and instructed that the remaining land acquisition process be initiated without delay. He emphasised that expediting these measures is essential for completing the widening work at the earliest and for preventing future disruptions to traffic.

At Hadapsar railway station road the civic chief reviewed ongoing stormwater and drainage line works and directed officials, contractors and technical consultants to complete the works without further delay given the heavy traffic on the route. The commissioner characterised the Hadapsar project as extremely important in view of the volume of vehicles and told staff to ensure the work proceeds without obstruction until completion.

While directing the road department to make the Kharadi-Keshav Nagar bridge available to motorists and commuters by 15 August Ram was informed that work on the approach roads would continue after the bridge is opened. The civic administration said the phased opening would help traffic movement even as finishing works proceed and asked citizens to cooperate while remaining approach-road work is completed.

Senior municipal officials who accompanied the commissioner included additional municipal commissioner Omprakash Divate, city engineer Aniruddha Pawaskar and acting chief engineer (roads) Rajesh Bankar among others. The inspections form part of a concentrated effort by the civic administration to speed up infrastructure delivery and reduce congestion in key city corridors.
