The Kiratpur-Manali four-lane highway was blocked after shooting stones near Mehla village in Bilaspur district. A landslide obstructed the road, disrupting traffic for all types of vehicles and prompting an immediate suspension of movement beyond Mandi Bharari Chowk by Bilaspur police. No loss of life was reported in the incident. Motorists on the stretch were urged to follow directions issued by officials.

Vehicles travelling to Chandigarh from Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Mandi and Kullu were diverted to Nauni Chowk via Mandi Bharari Bridge and advised to use NH 205 to Swarghat before proceeding towards Kiratpur. Traffic from Chandigarh to Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Mandi, Kullu and Manali was routed from Swarghat to Nauni Chowk, from where vehicles could continue on the four-lane highway. The Superintendent of Police in Bilaspur, Abhishek Dhiman, asked the public to use the prescribed alternative routes and cooperate with traffic police to ensure public safety and smooth traffic management. Those stranded were advised to remain patient and follow the directions of local administration and police personnel deployed at the site.

Tourists and residents were urged to avoid unnecessary travel on the Kiratpur-Manali National Highway during the ongoing spell of heavy rainfall. The State Emergency Operation Centre reported that 118 roads remained blocked across the hill state owing to damage caused by torrential rain. Of the total blocked roads, 44 were in Mandi, 39 in Kullu, 13 in Shimla, seven in Chamba, six in Sirmaur, five in Kangra, three in Una and one in Solan. Local authorities continued clearance and repair operations at affected sites.

Heavy rain was likely to continue across Himachal Pradesh until 15 August, with orange and yellow alerts issued for several districts. For 10 August, orange alerts were in place for Kangra and Sirmaur, where heavy to very heavy rain was expected at isolated places, while yellow alerts covered Solan, Mandi and Bilaspur with heavy rain expected at isolated places and light to moderate rain forecast for other parts of the state. Authorities advised travellers to plan journeys accordingly and monitor local advisories for updates.
