Moglix enters energy sector with DRG Industries’ new-age bitumen facility in Kosi Kalan

Moglix, one of Asia’s largest B2B e-commerce and supply chain technology companies, has announced the commissioning of a greenfield bitumen processing facility under DRG Industries, the manufacturing arm of Moglix. Located in Kosi Kalan, Mathura, the facility will commence commercial production in July 2025 and marks Moglix’s strategic entry into the energy and infrastructure materials sector.

India’s Viksit Bharat vision is anchored in infrastructure that is not just widespread but also future-ready, safe, and sustainable. With the country possessing the second-largest road network globally, the focus is now shifting to improving road longevity and safety while reducing environmental impact.

Through DRG Industries, Moglix aims to manufacture next-generation, high-performance bitumen products—including polymer-modified bitumen, microsurfacing-grade emulsions, and hard binders—that are engineered to extend road life, reduce maintenance cycles, and lower carbon footprint. The plant features cutting-edge automation, a monthly processing capacity of over 28,000 MT, and a fully integrated R&D centre to localise product development.

One of the key offerings—microsurfacing—is a globally recognised technique that helps seal surface cracks, enhance friction, and increase pavement durability. Compared to traditional resurfacing, it can double pavement lifespan and reduce carbon emissions by up to 44 per cent.

Rahul Garg, Founder & CEO, Moglix, said, “Our roads are the veins of Viksit Bharat. Building them stronger and smarter requires materials that are not only durable but sustainable. DRG Industries is our commitment to building roads that last longer, perform better, and serve more—with responsibility at the core.”

The 3.5-acre facility is equipped with advanced Denimotech mills, fully automated production lines, and biomass-fuelled carbon-neutral high-efficiency boilers featuring scrubber systems and filter bags, aligning with Moglix’s ESG goals. Strategically located, it will serve key infrastructure projects across northern and central India, including Uttar Pradesh, NCR, Bihar, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Jammu & Kashmir, as well as export markets such as Nepal.

The project will also create regional employment opportunities and foster SME vendor partnerships, reinforcing Moglix’s mission to build industrial capacity that is scalable, sustainable, and nationally aligned. With this milestone, the company strengthens its vision of building India’s next-generation supply chain infrastructure and plans to expand its bitumen manufacturing footprint across the country.
