Mangalore MP, Nalin Kumar Chowta, has called on the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to accelerate the construction of Vehicle Overpasses (VOPs) at two crucial junctions on National Highway 66: Nanthoor and KPT. This directive comes amid growing concerns about traffic congestion and road safety in these high-traffic areas.

The VOPs at Nanthoor and KPT are part of a larger infrastructure improvement project aimed at reducing traffic bottlenecks and enhancing road safety. These junctions are known for their heavy traffic, which often results in long delays and increased accident risks. The proposed overpasses are expected to significantly alleviate these issues by allowing uninterrupted traffic flow over the intersections.

Chowta's directive emphasises the urgency of completing the VOPs, which have been under construction for some time. The MP has requested NHAI to expedite the project timelines and address any delays that could impact the project's progress.
