Nagpur’s Outer Ring Road to be Fully Operational by March
While the first 37-km stretch is already in use, the remaining 27-km section will open early next month, completing the loop. The ring road starts from Jamtha on Wardha Road, passing through Samruddhi Expressway junction, Katol Road, Koradi, Fetri, and Nagpur-Jabalpur Highway, before ending at Nagpur bypass near Kapsi. The second phase specifically connects Fetri to Kapsi.
Once fully operational, highway traffic will no longer need to pass through city roads. Trucks from Hyderabad will get a direct route to Jabalpur, while vehicles from Betul can travel straight to Bhandara and further to Kolkata. Similarly, traffic from Amravati Road will have seamless access to Bhandara Road.
The new road complements an existing bypass near Kapsi, further easing congestion. While Nagpur already has an inner ring road built by the PWD, growing traffic demands led NHAI to develop this larger outer ring road.
