Critical locations have been reinforced through hill protection works, slope stabilisation, construction of retaining walls, improved drainage systems and anti-erosion measures to strengthen highway infrastructure against adverse weather. The measures aim to limit slope movement, channel surface water away from carriageways and reduce the build-up of debris that can obstruct routes. In addition to immediate protective work, the authority has drawn up longer term mitigation plans that include bridges and permanent protective structures to improve stability of vulnerable sections. To ensure rapid restoration of traffic following landslides or weather incidents, monitoring and emergency response mechanisms have been strengthened and machinery, technical experts and field personnel have been strategically deployed. The authority is coordinating closely with district administrations, police and disaster management agencies to ensure swift response and effective management of emergencies on national highways.
