Nitin Gadkari lays foundation stone for 4 NH projects in West Bengal

The project, which was dedicated to the nation today, included the construction of a 55-km four-lane road stretch from Kharagpur to Chichra at a cost of Rs 6.13 billion. This stretch's development will go a long way toward ensuring the progress and prosperity of the surrounding tribal areas. The foundation stone was laid for the 162 km Panagarh to Dankuni (NH-2) six-lane road stretch, which will cost Rs 42.15 billion. This route will improve access to Sikkim, Bhutan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and the Bay of Bengal.

The foundation stone was also laid for a 10-km, four-lane Purulia bypass, which will cost Rs 1.75 billion and be completed in December 2023. The construction of this bypass will alleviate traffic congestion within the city, and vehicles travelling to Durgapur, Asansol, Bokaro Dhanbad, Jamshedpur, and Ranchi will save time, distance, and money.
