Nitin Gadkari lays foundation stone of 18 NH projects in UP

In the presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Union Minister of State Pankaj Chowdhary, and all MPs, MLAs, and officials, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari today inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 18 National Highway projects totaling more than 10,000 crore in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh.

According to Gadkari, the 4-laning of Sonauli-Gorakhpur will improve border security along the international border. The bypass will complete the Gorakhpur Ring Road, relieving traffic congestion in the city and assisting in the establishment of commercial and residential units.

The Minister stated that the construction of a road from Kushinagar to Lumbini will boost international tourism to Buddhist tourist destinations. He stated that the construction of the Gilola bypass will improve the connectivity of Bahraich-Shrawasti-Balrampur. Along with this, traffic will be smooth for Devi Patan temple visitors, he added.

Gadkari stated that the projects being inaugurated and the foundation stone being laid on Baba Gorakshnath's holy land will encourage investment and job opportunities in Uttar Pradesh, as well as boost industrial development.
