PMC Floats Rs 1,640 Mn Tender For Chandni Chowk Bhugaon Road
The project will upgrade a two point two kilometre stretch between Chandni Chowk and Bhugaon and includes a 60 metre-wide flyover and a 70 metre-long bridge over the Ram River. The scheme also provides for a 430 metre underpass near the PVPIIT College junction and service roads on both sides of the flyover. Detailed alignment, earthworks and drainage provisions are included in the scope. Contract specifications encompass pavement design, structural works and drainage integration along the corridor.
The upgraded corridor is expected to strengthen connectivity between Pune and surrounding areas and to serve traffic moving from Mulshi towards the Konkan region. It will link the Pirangut industrial belt with Bhugaon, Bhukum and neighbouring villages and is intended to improve freight and commuter movement. Planners anticipate benefits to regional logistics as development expands along the route.
The tender value has been stated as Rs one point six four billion, equivalent to Rs 1,640 mn, and will form the financial basis for procurement and contract award. PMC has not announced a precise completion timeline and will proceed with contractor selection following prescribed processes. Municipal planners will publish tender clarifications and pre-bid information to guide prospective bidders and to ensure transparent procurement. The project is a significant addition to Pune infrastructure and will be monitored for progress by municipal authorities and stakeholders.
