PWD minister Atishi inspects the roads in west Delhi
The minister's office stated in a formal statement that she had examined the roadways between Janakpuri East Metro station and Tilak Nagar Metro station. "She underlined during the inspection the need for rapid upkeep, beauty, drainage improvement, and upgrading of crossings and footpaths safer and more user-friendly. The minister discovered that the walkways on the roadways were in far from optimal condition, were inconsistent, and needed maintenance.
The condition of these roadways, according to Atishi, is unacceptable. "In the effort to upgrade Delhi's roadways to international standards, the government will not accept any carelessness or compromise. I've given the PWD staff orders to improve these roads. Over the next week, a detailed strategy to upgrade every road in each division should be developed, she added.
According to a PWD official, maintenance of drainage systems, horticulture, pedestrian requirements, adjustments to walkways for safety, tree pruning, and repair of defective curb stones on the centre verge are all part of the road improvement work.
