SP Singla bags contract for 3 flyovers from BMC

The contract to construct three flyovers as part of the Goregaon-Mulund Link Road Tunnel Project in Mumbai has been awarded to a contractor who allegedly had involvement in the construction of the bridge in Bihar that collapsed on Sunday. The contractor, SP Singla of S P Singla Construction, secured the contract from the BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation for the construction of the three flyovers, with an estimated value of Rs 5.84 billion.

Over the weekend, a section of the Aguwani Sultanganj bridge, an under-construction bridge over the Ganga river in Bihar, collapsed. The bridge was meant to connect the Khagaria and Bhagalpur districts. This incident has sparked concerns regarding the progress and safety of the construction project, as it marks the second time a portion of the same bridge has collapsed within a span of two years. It is believed that there are flaws in the bridge's design.
