Sridhar Babu Sets September 30 Deadline for Road Widening
He directed the authorities to complete the shifting of electrical poles along the forest stretch by August 15 and to finish the road widening works by September 30. The minister also instructed the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) to prepare and submit detailed proposals for stormwater drains to the City Municipal Corporation (CMC) for examination and necessary action. The objective was to ensure adequate drainage along the corridor and to prevent waterlogging once the carriageway widening is complete.
He asked officials to prioritise land acquisition processes in Dulapally and Bahadurpally and to resolve title and compensation issues expeditiously. The minister expected close coordination between revenue, public works and utility departments to accelerate clearances and to enable uninterrupted construction. Officials were urged to monitor contractor progress and to report bottlenecks promptly so that remedial measures could be implemented. The aim was to adhere to the deadline and to minimise time overruns that increase costs.
The minister instructed officials to furnish regular progress updates and to submit timelines for pending subactivities to his office for periodic review. He recommended proactive management of environmental and safety clearances and the deployment of traffic management plans during construction to reduce inconvenience to commuters. Completion of the widened corridor will improve connectivity between residential and industrial zones and support smoother movement of goods and people along the route.
