Tunnels Across Major Passes In Ladakh In Offing

The Ladakh administration has hired consultants to build tunnels across major passes in the union territory at a cost of Rs 50 billion to improve internal connectivity.

The famous Khardung-La pass in Ladakh is also known as the highest motorable road in the world, and tourists must pass through it on their way to Nubra Valley.

Consultants have been hired to create detailed project reports (DPRs) for tunnels crossing the passes of Khardung La, Fotu La, Namika La, and Key-La. An all-weather tunnel improves connectivity between valleys, allowing military, civilians, and tourists to move around the region more easily.
