UPSRTC to Launch 63 Buses on Rural Routes from July 15

Travel in remote parts of the Prayagraj region is set for a major boost as the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) prepares to roll out 63 new buses across 55 rural routes starting 15 July. The initiative aims to strengthen last-mile connectivity in underserved areas, officials confirmed.

The decision follows extensive field surveys and consultations with MLAs, village heads, and Block Development Committee (BDC) members. “These routes have been selected entirely on the basis of public demand,” said Ravindra Kumar, Regional Manager of UPSRTC-Prayagraj.

The fleet comprises 42-seater buses specifically designed for rural conditions and to serve communities with limited access to reliable transport. Of the 63 buses, 34 have already reached their assigned depots, with the remainder expected shortly.

Out of the 55 routes, 25 will operate from Prayagraj and nearby regions, and 19 from Pratapgarh. Additional routes from Lalganj will connect to key cities including Lucknow, Kanpur, Ayodhya, Jaunpur, Chitrakoot, and Varanasi.

Notable Prayagraj routes include services to Chitrakoot via Nyayipur and Nawabganj, Sultanpur via Holagarh and Hathigwan, Jaunpur via Suriyawan and Pipri, and Mirzapur via Manda Road and Koraon. In Pratapgarh, buses will connect to regional centres such as Lucknow, Kanpur, and Ayodhya, along with direct routes to Prayagraj through towns like Durgaganj, Jamtali, and Patti.
