The Yogi government has approved a 710-metre six-lane underpass on the FNG (Faridabad-Noida-Ghaziabad) corridor to divert through-traffic and ease pressure on Noida's internal roads. The plan seeks to keep vehicles passing through the region on the corridor rather than on city streets. Traffic from Meerut, Faridabad, Delhi, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Agra and Greater Noida is expected to be channelled onto the corridor to reduce local congestion.

The project plan was prepared by DIMTS for Work Circle Six of the Noida Authority and will be presented to the authority's chief executive officer, Krishna Karunesh, for approval. Approval will allow technical and financial processes to begin, including resource allocation and contractor selection. Officials expect measures to be phased to minimise disruption during construction.

Inspection at the Parthala roundabout indicated that congestion could become severe once the FNG expressway is fully operational, as current pressure is limited by incomplete stretches. The underpass has been proposed as a long-term measure to permit uninterrupted regional traffic beneath busy intersections and to reduce bottlenecks.

Once completed, the underpass will allow smoother travel from Soharkha and Phase two areas towards the Delhi-Meerut Expressway via Chhijarsi and will improve access between Parthala bridge and Kisan Chowk. Commuters who currently face difficulties near Chhijarsi when accessing National Highway nine will benefit from a more direct alignment via Bisrakh bridge.

Authorities are also working on widening roads that link National Highway nine to Noida and have proposed a 640-metre flyover near Chhijarsi on the FNG corridor to further reduce congestion. Together these measures are expected to improve traffic management, enhance connectivity across major routes and deliver more reliable travel times for commuters and long-distance travellers.
