NCRTC Completes Unique Steel Spans for Delhi RRTS
The combined length of these six spans is approximately 360 meters, serving to bridge the Ghazipur drain and facilitate the RRTS corridor's progress. Three of the spans measure around 70 meters in length each, while the remaining three are approximately 50 meters long. These impressive structures are 14 meters wide and weigh 540 tonnes each.
The installation near the Ghazipur drain posed unique challenges due to the drain's diagonal alignment relative to the RRTS corridor. Deep foundations had to be constructed within the drain, and existing road structures and large pipelines added complexity to the project. Despite these obstacles, the NCRTC team completed the installation, following safety protocols and precautions.
Previously, six special steel spans were installed for the Delhi-Meerut RRTS corridor, further demonstrating the innovative use of these structures in expanding the regional rapid transit system.
