The 62nd meeting of the Railway Hindi Advisory Committee (RHAC) was held at Rail Bhavan under the chairmanship of the Minister of State for Railways and Food Processing Industries, Ravneet Singh Bittu, and the Minister of State for Railways, V. Somanna. Members of Parliament and former members attended alongside nominated committee members and the Secretary of the Committee of Parliament on Official Language from the Ministry of Home Affairs. The event brought together board members and senior officers from across the railway establishment.

Heads of zonal railways, production units, undertakings, training institutes and railway recruitment boards participated, with chief official language officers and other officers contributing virtually. The Director General (Human Resources) of the Railway Board opened proceedings with a welcome and felicitation of the dignitaries. Subsequent agenda items reviewed action taken on decisions of the previous meeting and reported inspections conducted by the Committee of Parliament on Official Language during the half year under review.

Details were presented on the use and promotion of the official language within the Railway Board and its subordinate offices, and a report was given on programmes conducted during the half year under review. Committee members reviewed these reports and offered suggestions for enhanced implementation and outreach. The discussions focused on strengthening compliance and improving training and promotional activities across units.

Ministers present conveyed appreciation for the committee's work and noted the need for timely follow up on recommendations. They assured members that the suggestions put forward would be given due consideration and implemented by the relevant offices. Officials were directed to coordinate with zonal and subordinate units to ensure consistent application of language policies and training measures.

The meeting saw broad participation from board and field formations and concluded with an emphasis on monitoring implementation. A schedule for follow up and reporting was requested to keep progress under review.
