AAI and RVNL Ink Pact for Subway Construction

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) and Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to jointly undertake the construction of subways in West Bengal. This collaborative effort aims to bolster transportation infrastructure in the state, facilitating smoother connectivity and enhancing passenger convenience. The MoU signifies a strategic partnership between AAI and RVNL to leverage their respective expertise in airport and railway infrastructure development. Under this agreement, both entities will work together to identify suitable locations for subway construction, conduct feasibility studies, and execute the projects in a timely manner.

The subways will play a crucial role in easing traffic congestion and improving accessibility to key areas across West Bengal. Additionally, they will enhance safety for commuters and pedestrians by providing dedicated pathways underneath busy roads and railway tracks. This initiative aligns with the broader goal of enhancing transportation infrastructure to support economic growth and development in the region. The collaboration between AAI and RVNL reflects a proactive approach towards addressing the infrastructure needs of West Bengal and underscores the importance of inter-agency cooperation in driving sustainable development.
