Ayesa Emerges L1 for Lucknow Metro Phase 1B Design Role

Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (UPMRCL) has declared Ayesa Ingenieria y Arquitectura, S.A.U as the lowest bidder (L1) for the Detailed Design Consultant (DDC) contract for Lucknow Metro Phase 1B.
UPMRCL had invited bids for the consultancy assignment with a contract duration of 1,825 days. Technical bids were opened on 28 October 2025, with two firms participating. Following the technical evaluation completed on 16 January 2026, both bidders qualified for the financial stage. Financial bids were opened on 19 January 2026 and evaluated on 29 January 2026, after which Ayesa was declared the L1 bidder.
Ayesa quoted a bid value of Rs 159 million, substantially lower than Systra MVA Consulting (India) Private Limited, which quoted Rs 280 million.
The scope of work includes services as Detailed Design Consultant for civil, architectural, electrical and mechanical, and traction works. The assignment covers a 4.29 km elevated section, including ramps, with five elevated stations—Thakurganj, Balaganj, Sarfarazganj, Musabagh and Vasantkunj—and a 6.88 km underground section, including ramps, with seven underground stations at Charbagh, Gautam Buddha Marg, Aminabad, Pandeyganj, City Railway Station, Medical Chauraha and Chowk. The scope also includes a car maintenance depot and stabling lines at Vasantkunj, Lucknow.
Lucknow Metro Phase 1B comprises a single corridor of 11.165 km, extending from Charbagh Railway Station to Vasant Kunj, integrating both elevated and underground sections. The project received Union Cabinet approval in August and is estimated to cost Rs 58,010 million.
