Bangalore Metro Conducts Trial Runs on Phase 2 Pink Line
The initial trial run was conducted between Kalena Agrahara and Tavarekere stations. Officials said the tests are aimed at assessing track alignment, signalling systems and overall safety standards before commercial operations commence.
Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited is planning to operationalise the first phase of the Pink Line in the near term. Phase 1 comprises a 7.5 km elevated section from Kalena Agrahara to Tavarekere, covering six stations.
The remaining stretch from Tavarekere to Nagawara will be fully underground and will include 12 stations. According to officials, operations on the underground section are expected to begin by November 2026.
Once completed, the Pink Line is expected to significantly improve north–south connectivity across Bengaluru, easing congestion and enhancing access to key residential and commercial areas along the corridor.
