Bengaluru Metro Floats Phase 3 Tenders

Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has recently floated the first set of tenders for Phase 3 of the Namma Metro project, marking a key milestone in the city’s rapid transit expansion. Phase 3 involves the development of a 44.45-km metro corridor comprising two lines and seven interchange stations.

With the addition of Phase 3, the total operational and planned metro network in Bengaluru is expected to expand to 222 km by 2031. The new phase is designed to strengthen east–west and north–south connectivity while improving integration with existing metro corridors and other modes of urban transport.

The project aims to ease traffic congestion, reduce travel time, and support sustainable urban mobility in the fast-growing Bengaluru metropolitan region. Once completed, Phase 3 will play a critical role in enhancing last-mile connectivity and accommodating rising commuter demand across key residential and commercial zones.
