BMRCL Awards Rs 453.1 Bn Elevator Contract to OTIS for Metro Ph-2A & 2B

The Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has awarded a contract worth Rs 453.1 billion to OTIS Elevator Company (India) Ltd for the supply and installation of advanced gearless elevators at stations under Phase-2A and 2B of the city’s expanding metro network.

The scope of work includes the design, manufacturing, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of machine room-less gearless elevators. It also covers integrated testing and a 10-year Comprehensive Annual Maintenance Contract (CAMC) following a two-year Defect Liability Period (DLP).

This contract, aimed at enhancing passenger convenience and accessibility, marks another milestone in Bengaluru’s commitment to providing reliable and modern urban transport infrastructure. By integrating OTIS’s vertical mobility solutions, BMRCL continues to bolster the metro’s efficiency and user experience.

The deployment of these state-of-the-art elevators will support smooth passenger flow across key interchange and high-footfall stations, ensuring a safe and dependable commute for Bengaluru’s growing urban population.
