Circular railway DPR for Bengaluru to be ready by August

The Detailed Project Report (DPR) for Bengaluru’s 288-km circular railway is expected to be submitted to the Railway Board by August 2025, as per South Western Railway officials. The sevenleg project aims to ease urban congestion and boost rail infrastructure. Final location survey has been approved. Meanwhile, two new platforms will be added to KSR Bengaluru station at a cost of `2.22 billion. Other upgrades include redevelopment of Bengaluru Cantonment station for `4.84 billion and the quadrupling of the 38-km Cantonment–Whitefield line. Work on the suburban rail project corridors is also progressing.
