Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy addressed speculations regarding the potential cancellation of the Airport Metro rail and Pharma City projects. He clarified that the congress government aims to remodel these projects to enhance cost-effectiveness, commuter convenience, reduce the Metro rail distance to the airport, and strategically lay lines in areas with substantial patronage.

In essence, the Raidurg-Shamshabad Airport Metro line project, as envisioned by the previous BRS government, may not be pursued. CM Revanth Reddy revealed that despite L&T representatives advising against the commercial feasibility of the Raidurg-Shamshabad airport stretch, the previous government proceeded with the project to serve the real estate interests of associates. Instead, the new plan involves extending the Metro rail from Mahatma Gandhi Bus Terminal at Gowliguda to Shamshabad airport via the Old City and Chandrayangutta.

Furthermore, the government intends to expand the Metro from Nagole to Chandrayangutta via LB Nagar and Owaisi Hospital, linking it at Chandrayangutta to the Metro from the Old City, heading towards the airport. The CM added the possibility of extending the Metro rail from Mindspace junction to the Financial District and from Miyapur to Ramachandrapuram near Patancheru via BHEL if required.

Highlighting the central government's willingness to fund Metro projects based on commuter feasibility, the CM emphasised that the proposed lines would attract substantial patronage, unlike the previous government's route, which may not have been convenient for residents in Gachibowli.

Regarding the Pharma City project, CM Revanth Reddy assured that it would not be abandoned. Instead, the government plans to encourage the establishment of ten pharma clusters, each spanning 1,000-3,000 acres, strategically located near highways within the Outer Ring Road and the Regional Ring Road. The goal is to provide residential colonies and other amenities near these clusters, minimising the need for employees to commute to the city daily. Additionally, efforts will be made to ensure that these units are pollution-free.
