In a recent conference with Congress workers, former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda announced that if the Congress party wins the upcoming state assembly elections, they will extend the metro line from Gurugram to Manesar. Hooda emphasized Congress's previous successes, claiming they were responsible for bringing the Delhi Metro service to key cities in Haryana, including Gurugram, Faridabad, Ballabhgarh, and Bahadurgarh.
Hooda criticized the current BJP government, stating that the metro expansion projects halted after they assumed power. He accused the BJP of neglecting the development of Gurugram, leading to issues like garbage heaps, traffic congestion, and poor sewerage systems. Hooda lamented that the once investor-friendly city of Gurugram has seen a decline in new industries and institutions, with many established companies now migrating or reducing their workforce.
Highlighting Congress?s achievements, Hooda noted that during their tenure, 70 percent of Japan?s investment in India was directed to Gurugram and Manesar. In contrast, he claimed that the state?s current law and order situation under the BJP has left residents feeling unsafe.
