Last week, it was announced by Rail Vikas Nigam (RVNL) in a regulatory filing that they had been declared as the lowest bidder for Package C-01 in Reach 2A of Nagpur Metro's Phase 2 project, which spans a distance of 6.92 kilometres. The 13-kilometre-long elevated Reach 2A will establish a connection between Nagpur Metro's Orange Line, measuring 19.658 kilometres and completed during Phase 1, and the Kanhan River. This connection will be facilitated through the construction of 12 elevated stations.

The construction of stations and the viaduct that links them are being separately tendered. The scope of work for Package C-01 focuses solely on the viaduct, extending from the east of Automotive Square Station to Lekha Nagar Station.

In February 2023, Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation (MAHA-METRO) issued an invitation to submit bids for the construction project, without specifying the budget, with a target completion period of 30 months. In April 2023, technical bids were invited.

RVNL submitted a bid for the project. The brief scope of work entails designing and constructing an elevated metro viaduct spanning a length of 6.92 kilometres, starting from Ch. (-) 657.182 metres and ending at Ch. (-) 7576.78 metres within Reach 2A of NMRP Phase-2.

Package C-05, on the other hand, will be utilized to construct six stations, namely Pili Nadi, Khasara Fata, All India Radio, Kheri Fata, Lok Vihar, and Lekha Nagar. These stations are currently undergoing construction. Bids were requested in March 2023, and on June 14, the technical bids were opened.
