The Delhi Lieutenant Governor, Taranjit Singh Sandhu, has streamlined the allotment of land for a range of long-pending infrastructure and welfare projects to overcome stalled approvals caused by interagency coordination issues. The intervention followed consistent reviews and directions to ensure cooperation between the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) and stakeholder agencies. The measures aim to expedite projects across security, health, education and environmental management.

Security infrastructure will be upgraded with land allotted for new police stations at Dilkusha Bagh, Sagarpur, Suyurpur and Kishangarh and for a Forensic Science Laboratory in Narela, while Intelligence Bureau stations have been allotted land at Dheerpur and Tahirpur. Staff housing for the judiciary at Rohini and Shahdara has been fast-tracked to improve accommodation for court personnel. These allotments are intended to strengthen policing, forensic capacity and administrative support across the capital.

Under urban services, the Lieutenant Governor cleared allocation of 20 hectares to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) at Sanoth for a metro depot and 16 hectares at Narela for a casting yard, and the DDA was directed to facilitate possession. The Delhi Jal Board (DJB) received 151 borewell clearances and land for sewage treatment plants at eight locations to address water and waste challenges. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) was allotted 24 fixed compactor transfer station sites and additional land at Ghazipur for expansion of waste-to-energy and bio-methanization facilities.

Community welfare allotments include eight point five hectares at Holambi Kalan for an E-Waste Eco Management Park, no objection certificates for 112 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs and five Atal Canteens, and land for community halls for Sub-Registrar offices at Dwarka and Manglapuri. In education, the Narela Education Hub received land allocations to premier institutions with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) allocated 22.43 acres, Delhi Technological University (DTU) allocated 12.69 acres and Central Sanskrit University also allotted land, while four point one acres were cleared for a Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Jwalapuri. The actions are presented as measures to unlock stalled projects and accelerate delivery of services to residents.
