Delhi Metro Phase Four Bids Invited For UIC-60 Turnouts And Crossovers
The total cost of the project from Badarpur to Escorts Mujesar was nearly Rs 25,000 million (mn), with the Haryana Government bearing Rs 15,570 million (mn), the Centre contributing Rs 5,370 million (mn) and the Delhi Metro providing Rs 4,000 million (mn). A Haryana government spokesperson said that the corridor was 95 per cent indigenously built and would provide a safe, affordable, quick, comfortable, reliable, environment-friendly and sustainable transport facility. The extension is expected to improve connectivity within the National Capital Region and support commuters travelling for work and commerce.
The nine stations in this section are Sarai, NHPC Chowk, Mewala Maharajpur, Sector 28, Badkal Mor, Old Faridabad, Neelam Chowk Ajronda, Bata Chowk and Escorts Mujesar. State officials indicated that the new corridor will reduce travel time and offer an alternative to road transport, thereby easing congestion on the Delhi-Mathura corridor. Authorities also noted that the project will provide resilience and redundancy to the existing network.
Haryana's Chief Minister expressed gratitude for the new service and said it would raise the city's level of progress by improving links with other National Capital Region towns, while officials indicated that further metro connectivity projects between Gurgaon and Faridabad were under consideration. Transport planners said that the opening will integrate with existing services and enable better interchange options for passengers. Procurement notices for Phase Four works have invited bids for UIC-60 turnouts and crossovers for the Line Eight extension as part of broader track works. Contractors were asked to comply with technical specifications and timelines set by the project authority.
