The infrastructure works were reviewed by Sharma, who advised the officials to ensure the completion of works within the deadline. The construction of the rail line under the project is situated in remote areas and is closely monitored by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
Out of the total length of 301 km of the project, 152.8 km of the rail line has been commissioned. The Railways have been constructing the line from both sides of Khurda Road and Balangir for the early completion of the project.
The completed works include 105.8 km from Khurda Road to Daspalla and 47 km from Balangir to Sonepur. It is expected that about 73 km from Sonepur to Purunakatak will be completed in a couple of months. The target is set to complete the remaining 75-km stretch from Daspalla to Purunakatak by December 2026.
