Eight Long-Distance Trains from Jammu to Resume from October 2

The Northern Railways will resume services of eight long-distance passenger trains from Jammu starting October 2, following improvement in weather conditions and repair of affected rail stretches.

Continuous rains and water-logging in the Jammu division had led to cancellations and early termination of several trains in recent days. The fourth phase of restoration comes after officials thoroughly inspected railway tracks, bridges, and sections to ensure passenger safety.

Vivek Kumar, Divisional Railway Manager, Jammu, along with other officials, monitored the progress of repairs and safety measures. Uchit Singhal, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, said, “These trains are being reinstated after ensuring the safety and continuity of the railway tracks. Train operations in the division are gradually returning to normal as technical work is completed.”

This step marks continued efforts by Northern Railways to restore normalcy and maintain safe and reliable rail services in the region.
