Free Wi-Fi services have been provided at 6,117 railway stations across Indian Railways, with no separate funds sanctioned by the Ministry of Railways specifically for the service.

Access to the Wi-Fi facility does not require the submission of personal information, apart from a mobile number used for one-time password verification. Railway authorities said issues related to Wi-Fi functionality at stations are addressed promptly whenever reported.

The installation of CCTV cameras at stations and in coaches is continuing as part of efforts to enhance passenger safety and security. So far, CCTV surveillance systems have been installed at 1,731 stations and in 11,953 coaches. These systems are funded under capital expenditure.

At New Delhi Railway Station, CCTV cameras were already in place to cover outdoor areas such as entry and exit points, foot overbridges and platforms, as well as indoor areas including waiting halls and ticket counters. Following the development of new areas at the station after February 15, 2025, additional cameras have been installed. At present, 250 CCTV cameras are operational at the station.
