Gateway Distriparks launches Double Stack Rail Services at ICD Faridabad

Gateway Distriparks (GDL), a leading multimodal logistics company, has launched double stack rail services at its Inland Container Depot (ICD) in Faridabad, further expanding its capabilities to provide efficient connectivity to major seaports including Mundra, Pipavav, and Nhava Sheva through the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC).

This service, which will significantly increase carrying capacity, is already operational at GDL’s ICDs in Gurgaon and Viramgam. The introduction of double stack services at Faridabad will enhance the efficiency of GDL’s 34 train sets, reducing transit times and logistics costs for the company’s customers across Delhi NCR, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and surrounding areas.

Prem Kishan Dass Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director of Gateway Distriparks, emphasized the company’s commitment to logistics innovation and sustainability. The double stack services can increase capacity by up to 30% per trip, benefiting importers and exporters in the region by streamlining operations and reducing carbon emissions.

The service aims to support regional trade growth while aligning with GDL's environmental goals by lowering transportation-related emissions.
