Gati Shakti: 3 projects each of Railways

The National Planning Group under the PM's Gati Shakti Mission met on Wednesday to examine and suggest three projects, each presented by the Ministries of Railways and Road Transport & Highways, with a total project cost of over 228,000 crore. By avoiding congested and densely inhabited areas, these projects are anticipated to increase connectivity to diverse communities and important industrial business hubs and shorten travel times. According to a formal statement released by the Commerce & Industry Ministry on Thursday, the proposed projects are also anticipated to widen economic options and create job opportunities for locals.

According to a press release, the NPG evaluated one railway project, Barbil-Nayagarh-Barsuan and Bhadrasahi-Kiriburu, with a total project cost of 212,532.87 crore, connecting the current stations Barbil, Barsuan, and Kiriburu of the South Eastern Railway and Nayagarh of the East Coast Railway. The important mines in the districts of Sundargarh and Keonjhar in Odisha State and Paschimi Singhbhum in Jharkhand are connected by this railroad track.
