Gehlot clears Rs 9.93 bn for Jaipur Metro extension

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has approved financial support of Rs 9.93 billion for the construction of Jaipur Metro Phase 1-C.

CM Gehlot announced last week that Jaipur Metro will be extended in two phases in 2022–2023, from Mansarovar to the intersection of Ajmer Road and from Badi Chaupar to Transport Nagar (Phase 1C). Currently, the metro connects Badi Chaupar in Jaipur with Mansarovar.

The proposal states that after Phase 1-C of the Jaipur Metro is constructed, it will be possible for the metro to run from Badi Chaupar to Transport Nagar on the Delhi-Agra Highway, which will enhance the city’s traffic system. The general public will also have access to metro service up until the Delhi-Agra highway.

The Chief Minister had announced the construction of Phases 1C and 1D in the state budget for fiscal 2022–2023. Financial sanction in the amount of Rs 2.04 billion was granted in October this year the construction of Jaipur Metro Phase 1-D.
