Govt Starts Land Acquisition for Ayodhya Dham Railway Expansion
Residents and stakeholders have been granted 30 days from the issuance of the notification on June 6 to lodge any objections to the land acquisition process.
The initial phase of the Ayodhya Dham Railway Station, launched in 2018, was completed with a budget of ?1.5 billion. Ayodhya Mayor Girishpati Tripathi emphasized that this new project demonstrates the central government's commitment to maintaining the momentum of development in Ayodhya.
This railway station expansion follows the recent acquisition efforts for the widening of prominent roads in Ayodhya, namely Ram Path, Bhakti Path, and Dharma Path. Additionally, the ambitious New Ayodhya Township or GreenField Township project is on the horizon, requiring significant land acquisition. Spanning 1,407 acres along the Lucknow-Gorakhpur highway, this township will feature a lake with water from the River Saryu, a 2-km elevated road, residential plots, commercial spaces, ashrams, and international guest houses. Despite its promising blueprint, the township project faces potential resistance from local farmers concerning land acquisition.
As the Centre progresses with the Ayodhya Dham railway station expansion, the upcoming phases of development signal a transformative era for the temple town, aligning with broader urban planning and spiritual aesthetics.
