HBL Wins Rs 1.02 Billion Kavach Contract from IRCON

HBL Engineering Limited has received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from IRCON International Ltd for a Rs 1.02 billion contract to implement the Kavach Automatic Train Protection (ATP) System in the Bangalore and Mysore divisions of the South Western Railway.
The project, to be completed in 18 months, will span 778 kilometres, covering 85 stations and integrating the system into two locomotives. The Kavach system enhances operational safety and signalling efficiency, helping prevent train collisions and ensuring faster response times during emergencies.
This contract is the latest addition to HBL Engineering's growing portfolio in railway safety technology. The company recently secured another Kavach contract worth Rs 1.46 billion from Western Railways, covering a 428 km route and 48 stations.
The continued trust in HBL’s capabilities highlights its role in supporting Indian Railways’ vision for enhanced train protection systems and modernised signalling infrastructure.
