Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) has won two major contracts for the Patna Metro Project—Packages PC05 and PC06—worth a combined Rs 25.66 billion from Patna Metro Rail Corporation (PMRCL).
Both packages will be financed through a loan from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and have a completion timeline of 42 months.
Package PC05 covers the construction of twin tunnels, an underground ramp at Mithapur, and three underground metro stations: Vikas Bhawan, Vidyut Bhawan, and Patna Station. The scope includes architectural finishing, water supply, sanitary installations, and drainage works along the Danapur–Khemnichak Corridor of Phase I.
Package PC06 involves twin tunnels, an underground ramp at Rukanpura, and three underground metro stations: Rukanpura, Raja Bazar, and Patna Zoo. Similar to PC05, the package includes architectural finishing, water supply, sanitary installations, and drainage works along the same corridor.
Both contracts form part of Phase I of Patna Metro and will be executed using advanced construction techniques, including shield TBM and cut-and-cover tunnel methods. k
