Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) has announced the award of two major contracts from Patna Metro Rail Corporation (PMRCL), collectively valued at Rs 25.65 billion. The contracts form a key part of the first phase of the Patna Metro Rail Project.

The contracts include the construction of 10.67 km of underground tunnels using Tunnel Boring Machines (TBM) and the development of six underground metro stations. These works are expected to significantly advance the progress of the Danapur–Khemnichak Corridor.

As per HCC’s statement, Package PC-05 covers the design and construction of twin tunnels with shield TBMs, a cut-and-cover tunnel, and an underground ramp at Mithapur. It also includes three stations — Vikas Bhawan, Vidyut Bhawan, and Patna Station.

Package PC-06 will involve an underground ramp at Rukanpura, along with metro stations at Rukanpura, Raja Bazar, and Patna Zoo. Both packages also cover architectural works, water supply, sanitary, and drainage systems across the corridor.

HCC has played a pivotal role in strengthening India’s metro infrastructure, contributing to the successful execution of projects in Delhi, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Kolkata. With the Patna Metro project, the company continues its commitment to building advanced urban transport systems that enhance connectivity and support sustainable urban development.
