HMRL Additional Managing Director B Ajith Reddy instructed officials to initiate discussions with manufacturers to arrange additional coaches at the earliest, emphasising safe and convenient travel for passengers. He conducted a review meeting with senior officials from various metro departments on the operation and development of existing metro corridors and directed teams to prepare fresh plans to further develop Hyderabad Metro by enhancing services for the public. The review covered strategic priorities intended to improve capacity and passenger experience across the network.

In the first phase, covering 69 km of metro corridors, Reddy reviewed passenger amenities, last?mile connectivity arrangements, safety measures, parking facilities, station cleanliness and crowd management strategies. He directed officials to assess transport options available for commuters to reach their destinations and to co?ordinate closely with public transport agencies to ensure seamless connectivity. Existing last?mile vehicle services were to be expanded through joint planning with the RTC and the Transport Department and suitable operational solutions were to be explored.

He instructed measures for the maintenance and expansion of skywalks connected to metro stations and asked for co?ordination with railway authorities on managing skywalks and other connecting routes between railway and metro stations. Each station was to have a localised plan addressing accessibility, signage, lighting and passenger flow, with pilot implementation at select stations before wider rollout. Reddy also indicated plans to carry out personal inspections of station operations and maintenance through field visits in the coming weeks.

The progress of proposals for the Public Rapid Transit System in high?density areas such as Hitec City, Raidurg, Gachibowli, Financial District and Kondapur was reviewed and officials were tasked with accelerating preparatory work. Safety arrangements implemented by the Metro Rail Security Department for passenger protection were examined in detail and further strengthening of protocols was instructed. The release noted that administrative and operational follow ups will be pursued to ensure timely implementation of the measures discussed.
